Job description

The Japanese restaurant server plays a crucial role in delivering an authentic dining experience by providing attentive customer service and expert knowledge of Japanese cuisine. Working as part of a small team, servers ensure smooth operations during regular evening and weekend shifts while collaborating effectively with colleagues and reporting to the floor manager.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and serve customers with attentiveness and courtesy
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders focused on Japanese menu offerings
  • Set and clear tables promptly to maintain a clean dining environment
  • Handle cash and process payments accurately
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the menu to assist and upsell to guests
  • Work collaboratively within a small team of 1-5 servers
  • Resolve customer complaints in a professional manner

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Entry-level experience in food service will be fine if you are a fast learner, but the experienced server is preferred.
  • Customer service and order taking proficiency
  • Familiarity with point of sale (POS) systems and cash handling
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
