Job description

ITG TECHNOLOGIES (ITG) is looking for a Sr. Automation Controls Engineer with excellent design, coding, testing and implementation skills, with overall focus on delivering quality services. The Sr. Automation Controls Engineer will be responsible for leading technical teams through all phases of the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

· Design electrical controls systems for complex industrial equipment and/or process to include the control of electrical, chemical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in accordance with applicable standards.

· Program, maintain, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), communication networks, and distributed I/O systems.

· Design control panels, instrumentation panels, electrical diagrams, P&ID, and other complex electrical drawings.

· Perform PLC/HMI programming following internal standards, based on modular programming standards, driving consistent standards and overall quality.

· Act as technical lead to coordinate engineering activities within overall project team.

· Inspection of electrical controls panels, ensuring accurate design, assembly, and quality

· Perform pre-installation checkout of overall controls solution: Control Panels, PLC/HMI, Drives, SCADA system, and other project deliverables/dependencies.

· Perform start-up services in customer facilities.

· Perform post-installation support as required.

· Assist in writing operator’s manuals, sequence of operations, and other documentation as required.

· Create and update quality documentation as needed to maintain best-in-class performance with customers.

· Complete and maintains timesheets daily, detailed expense and travel reports.

· Assist with sales functions such as customer meetings, project takeoffs, BOM development, and project feasibility studies.

· Some travel required.

· Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Electrical/Controls Engineering or the equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.

· 8 years+ experience with controls, automation, SCADA, and instrumentation.

· Familiar with Siemens, Rockwell Automation, Wonderware, and/or Ignition platforms.

· Siemens Automation certification a plus.

· Experience in process automation, water/wastewater, and pharma applications a plus.

· Familiar with UL508, ISA, ISO, IEC, NFPA, and other industrial standards.

· Strong organizational, planning and interpersonal skills.

· Must have a Valid Driver’s License.

· Must be authorized to work in the United States.
