Job Description:

The role of the Dealer Auditor is to minimize the company's liability and risk by conducting dealership warranty audits, while consistently adhering to professional standards that align with the company's benchmarks of compliance and integrity. The primary objective is to ensure the consistent application of the warranty policies and procedures while maintaining accuracy and fairness across our dealer network.


The Dealer Auditor will also be responsible for preparing and communicating audit-related information, such as notification letters and specialized reports detailing audit results. Additionally, the Dealer Auditor will maintain oversight of the warranty expenses by continually reviewing policies and procedures related to warranty repairs, as well as other controlling rules, to identify trends and other noncompliance risks.


The Dealer Auditor will also play a key role in addressing recurring violations by providing consistent, ongoing communication of findings, conducting root cause analysis, and recommending possible corrective actions to stakeholders at both the dealership and corporate levels.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform audits of dealer warranty claim submissions through in-depth review of repair order documentation and initiate chargebacks for noncompliance.
  • Prepare, deliver, and maintain records of all audit-related communications including notification letters and reports reflecting audit results, in compliance with the document retention requirements.
  • Develop and execute enhanced methods for analyzing established warranty KPIs and claim submission patterns to aid in early detection of potential deviations from expected conditions.
  • Develop and maintain communication and coordination with dealership management, regional operations teams, and other corporate teams to ensure compliance with our Warranty and Dealer Policy manuals across the dealer network.
  • Provide training and support to the company and dealership personnel to improve compliance with Warranty policy and procedures.
  • Assist in other dealer network initiatives, such as facility inspections, and contribute to other Internal Audit projects as necessary.
  • Employ data analytics to predict and improve dealer compliance in warranty-related business areas.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 5-7+ years of (total) experience in the following areas:
  • Automotive (Retail) – In-depth knowledge of dealership retail processes and procedures, with emphasis on fixed operations departments.
  • Automotive (Technical) – In-depth knowledge of automotive technical information systems and repair/diagnostic procedures.
  • Strong computer skills and highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (O365 / Online Collaboration Version)
  • General understanding of the franchised dealership model
  • Quantitative, analytical, and detail-oriented
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Knowledge of risk management, control objectives/activities, and automated/manual controls
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing business environments and job responsibilities·


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior audit experience (financial, compliance, operational, or dealership/franchise)
  • Experience with automotive OEM dealership management systems
  • Experience with highly automated/digital processes; including but not limited to remote auditing techniques, claims processing, and optical recognition software
  • Experience researching, implementing, or authoring technical requirements, policies/procedures, and other governing documents
  • Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Fraud Examiner, or PMP Certification
  • The candidate will be based in the Pittsburgh, PA or Columbus, OH metro area, with travel of 80+%, and will report to a Dealer Audit Lead Auditor or Manager.
  • Valid driver's license is required as well as a clean driving record.
