Job description

Overview

We are seeking a Dealer Auditor to support warranty audit activities within an automotive retail network. This role is responsible for planning, executing, and reporting on audits related to dealership warranty claims, ensuring consistent application of policies, accuracy of claims, and overall compliance.

This position is highly analytical and requires a strong understanding of dealership operations, technical repair processes, and warranty systems. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of automotive retail knowledge and hands-on warranty auditing experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site audits of dealership warranty claims to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Analyze audit findings and prepare detailed reports outlining results and recommendations
  • Communicate audit results to stakeholders through formal documentation and presentations
  • Perform root cause analysis to identify issues and recommend corrective actions
  • Monitor and maintain audit tools, processes, and documentation
  • Identify opportunities to improve internal processes, systems, and policy effectiveness
  • Ensure fairness, accuracy, and consistency across all audit activities

Work Environment & Travel

  • High travel role (80-100%), primarily to dealership locations
  • Travel typically within a regional driving radius, with air travel as needed
  • Weekly schedule generally includes:ย 
    • Monday: Travel and preparation
    • Tuesday-Thursday/Friday: On-site audits
    • Friday: Remote administrative work and planning
  • Travel, lodging, and equipment provided

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5-7+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas:ย 
    • Automotive retail operations (especially fixed operations)
    • Automotive technical or service environments
    • Warranty claims auditing (strongly preferred)
  • In-depth understanding of dealership processes and the franchised dealer model

Required Skills

  • Hands-on experience with warranty claims auditing
  • Strong knowledge of automotive repair, diagnostics, and service operations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and collaboration tools)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Understanding of risk management, compliance, and audit processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in financial, compliance, or operational auditing
  • Experience with dealership management systems and warranty platforms
  • Familiarity with automated or digital audit tools and processes
  • Experience developing or interpreting policies, procedures, or technical documentation
  • Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Fraud Examiner, PMP)
