Job description

Position Summary
Directs the overall support activities including the planning, procurement, installation, implementation, on-going support and administration of all major technical systems located on the Pueblo of Sandia and its enterprises.
Manages the communication systems impacting Pueblo of Sandia and its enterprises. Ensures the architecture, systems and applications are interoperable within the Pueblo, its companies and governmental departments. Ensures the processes and procedures support senior management initiatives, strategic objectives for Information Technology and property initiatives. Ensures that Management Information Systems and Information Technology support is in accordance and responsive to the business objectives of each company and department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Ensures that operational processes and procedures support senior management initiatives and strategic objectives.
  2. Analyzes the needs of all departments and establishes priorities for feasibility studies, systems design and implementation to develop new and/or modify the company's information processing systems.
  3. Establishes, plans and administers departmental work standards, policies and procedures.
  4. Assists the COO and Governor with the planning and implementation of activities within the Information Technology (IT) Department as requested.
  5. Coordinates the implementation of hardware, software and network upgrades with Systems Development, Network Systems and Business Analysis staff.
  6. Administers Information Systems related procurement, administrative, budgetary and processes.
  7. Responsible for insuring compliance with all regulatory issues that are unique to a casino. Required to be following NIGC MICS, Gaming Commission Regulations, Internal Controls and Policy & Procedures.
  8. Responsible for overall system security and access control, to ensure that system functions, programs and files cannot be accessed without specific authorization.
  9. Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo of Sandia.

This position has Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) identified as a measurement of success. KPI's will be shared with all team members who work in this job title and feedback will be provided regarding the successful completion of the KPI's as part of the performance review process.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  1. Knowledge of the NIGC MICS, Gaming Commission Regulations, Internal Controls and Policy & Procedures.
  2. Ability to work effectively with Pueblo of Sandia government and enterprise staff.
  3. Ability to learn software that involves programming.
  4. Knowledge of the following applications or systems is preferred:
  • Gaming application systems
  • Hospitality application systems
  • Microsoft applications
  • Business support systems
  • Avaya Telecommunications
  • Cisco network hardware and software
  1. Ability to complete courses and certifications deemed necessary by the Casino.
  2. Business management, systems management, project management, contract negotiation and administration, operating and capital budgeting skills.
  3. Ability to create an environment of teamwork while managing and motivating employees working in a high-pressure environment towards successful results for the Pueblo of Sandia and company.
  4. Strong administrative, P/L management, technical, problem solving and negotiation skills.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to communicate to all levels within the company and vendors.
  6. Ability to prioritize, direct and monitor multiple tasks and assignments.
  7. Technical knowledge of the PC environment including hardware, operating system and networking. Experience in utilization of Windows applications in a business environment.
  8. Ability to analyze problems and apply logical/cost effective solutions.
  9. Ability to evaluate, recommend and implement proven technologies that apply to business strategies and system needs.

Education and Experience
Required:
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), CIS (Computer Information Systems or related field
  2. Seven (7) years progressively more responsible IT management related experience including supervising a helpdesk, application support, infrastructure support and network support personnel.
  3. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling eleven (11) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Preferred:
  1. Microsoft MCP, Cisco CCNA and Project Management certifications.

Note: Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy education and/or work experience.
License/Certifications/Registrations
  1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the required STGC Gaming License.
  2. Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening.
