Position Mission 

The Senior Director of Information Technology provides organizational leadership and operational oversight for Homewise's information technology function. This role ensures reliable, secure, and effective delivery of IT systems and services that support organizational operations and mission outcomes. 

In partnership with the Deputy CEO, the Senior Director contributes to long-term technology planning and prioritization, while maintaining primary responsibility for translating direction into execution, managing risk, and overseeing day-to-day IT performance and service delivery. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • In partnership with the Deputy CEO, contribute to long-term planning and prioritization for IT infrastructure, systems, cybersecurity, and cloud services. 
  • Translate organizational goals and leadership direction into clear, actionable IT plans, priorities, and operational roadmaps. 
  • Establish, maintain, and enforce IT governance frameworks, standards, and policies to ensure consistency, security, and compliance. 
  • Serve as a technical and operational advisor to the Deputy CEO, escalating risks, trade-offs, and recommendations as needed. 
  • Directly manage and coach the IT Director, ensuring alignment between leadership direction and daily execution. 
  • Build and support a high-performing IT team with clear roles, accountability, and professional development pathways. 
  • Ensure effective talent development, performance management, and succession planning within the IT function. 
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, security awareness, and continuous improvement. 
  • Oversee the delivery of IT services to ensure reliability, availability, performance, and strong user experience. 
  • Provide senior oversight of infrastructure, end-user computing, telecommunications, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity operations. 
  • Ensure disaster recovery, business continuity, and incident response plans are developed, tested, and maintained. 
  • Monitor service levels, risks, and performance metrics; hold IT leadership accountable for results. 
  • Oversee enterprise information security, IT risk management, and compliance activities, ensuring findings are addressed in a timely manner. 
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to meet regulatory, contractual, and security obligations. 
  • Oversee IT budgeting, forecasting, and vendor management in partnership with the CFO and Deputy CEO, ensuring fiscal responsibility and value. 
  • Ensure technology investments are implemented effectively and support long-term sustainability. 
  • Collaborate with department leaders to ensure technology solutions meet operational needs and improve efficiency. 
  • Act as an escalation point for complex or high-impact technology and security issues. 
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Education and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-wide IT strategy, infrastructure, and security programs. 
  • Experience overseeing IT budgets, vendor contracts, and large-scale technology initiatives. 
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity, risk management, and compliance best practices. 
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA, ITIL, PMP) preferred. 

Work Schedule 

  • Primary Location: Santa Fe Office or Albuquerque Office. 
  • Ability to travel as needed. 
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, as needed. 

Physical Requirements 

  • This is largely a sedentary role, although some lifting of supplies is required. 
  • Must be able to occasionally lift objects up to 20 pounds.
