Job Description
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) MANAGER
Location: Oconomowoc, WI / Milwaukee, WI
Job Summary: Responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of IT functions. This is a functional role that requires the planning and directing of IT operations as well as development, implementation and maintenance of existing applications. Define and develop new solutions for the business, working with external partners if required.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
IT Strategy Execution
  • Work with company leadership to align the IT strategy with the goals and direction of the company.
  • Implement a critical path of projects and dependencies to execute the defined IT Strategy.
  • Select and partner with internal and external resources to evaluate options and recommend solutions.

Business Intelligence
  • Assist organization with BI implementation, development and support.
  • Gather and condense data from multiple business systems to provide management with a clear understanding of key performance indicators.

Vendor Management
  • Participate on all hardware and software evaluations and maintain vendor contracts.
  • Direct and coordinate vendor activity to maximize the effectiveness of vendor solutions and services including project completion and knowledge transfer if applicable.
  • Provide routine feedback and review to vendors on performance.
  • Ensure billing and invoicing issues are resolved promptly.

Change Management
  • Our Client is a dynamic organization, which requires the ability to define a critical path, including Change Management updates as requested by leadership.
  • Assist Our Client with the implementation of platform and change training to maximize user experience and performance.

ERP Support
  • Evaluate and determine best approach for system upgrades (including patches, business process changes and major upgrades).
  • Direct the implementation of software upgrades.
  • Maintain a production and development/test environment.
  • Work with IT staff and vendors to plan and implement functionality changes to the software.
  • Work with Sentry personnel to determine needs for new functionality to drive efficiencies.
Supervisory
  • Supervise 3 employees in the IT Department. Schedule and assign work; oversee employee productivity and quality; maintain time and attendance records; administer company rules, regulations and policies governing employment; conduct performance reviews with appropriate documentation throughout the year; address disciplinary issues. Discuss disciplinary actions with HR and provide documentation to HR for personnel files.
  • Responsible for employee development. Work with subordinates to create individual performance expectations; provide ongoing feedback regarding progress toward established goals and track progress; provide employee coaching and training; recommend outside training opportunities.
Other
  • Train users on applications, new features, etc.
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and standards for all areas of IT.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Education:
  1. BS in computer science or related fields.

Experience:
  1. Minimum of 8 years' experience in Information Technology
  2. At least 3 years in a technical leadership capacity working with both IT and non-IT staff.
  3. Capacity to define and analyze business process for IT solutions.

Skills & Knowledge:
  1. .NET, SSRS and MS SQL experience desired.
  2. Experience migrating MS Access database to MS SQL.
  3. Web and mobile project management of function experience.
  4. Experience with ERP software configuration and management (Epicor preferred but not required).
  5. Manufacturing business experience preferred.
