Job description

Azure Operations Shift Supervisor Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI w/ Poly (Maryland MPO) About the Role This isn't a desk-warming supervisory role — it's the nerve center of a 24x7 Azure cloud operations environment. As Shift Supervisor, you own the shift. That means keeping engineers focused, queues moving, incidents resolved, and leadership informed.

You're the calm in the storm when systems spike and the driving force behind a high-performing team when things are running smooth. This work will be supported 24x7x365 by a 10‑hour schedule using a modified Panama rotation. Under this model, employees work four 10‑hour shifts per week and every other weekend, providing extended periods of time off while maintaining required coverage.

Shift Hours: Day Shift: 5:30 AM – 4:00 PM Swing Shift: 1:00 PM – 11:30 PM Night Shift: 9:00 PM – 7:30 AM Rotation Details: Week 1 Work Monday–Wednesday Off Thursday–Friday Work Saturday–Monday Week 2 Off Tuesday–Wednesday Work Thursday–Friday Weekend off What You'll Own Shift & Schedule Command Build and maintain shift schedules that keep every program workflow covered and fully resourced Partner with Azure SMEs and Leads to match team capacity to ticket volume Manage PTO, callouts, and overtime to keep the operation running without gaps Queue Management & Incident Resolution Lead Shift Handoff Calls that are tight, informative, and actionable — no fluff Serve as the escalation hub for internal and client-facing incidents, including after-hours Monitor engineer communications in real time and remove obstacles before they become outages Step into BCP Coordinator responsibilities when the situation calls for it Weekend On-Call Coverage Rotate into weekend on-call shifts and be ready to respond on site when needed Ensure weekend deliverables get done — no exceptions People & Performance Leadership Be a visible, reliable presence on shift — engineers should know you're in their corner Conduct regular one-on-ones, document performance concerns, and escalate when needed Champion training, career development, and team productivity initiatives Hold the line on organizational policies, core values, and delivery standards What You Bring 4–6 years in IT, with at least 2 years leading technical teams Hands-on experience supporting 24x7 cloud-based environments (Azure preferred) Sharp troubleshooting instincts and the communication skills to translate technical chaos into clear updates for leadership and clients Active TS/SCI with Poly clearance, adjudicated by the Maryland MPO Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field — or equivalent experience that proves you know your stuff Why This Role Stands Out You're not just supervising — you're leading a critical team supporting mission-level cloud infrastructure. If you thrive under pressure, take pride in team performance, and want a role where your decisions actually matter, this is it. #cjpost
