IT Technical Writer
Salary Range: $72,000 to $86,500 per year
Ops Tech Alliance (OTA) is seeking an IT Technical Writer to support DLIFLC at the Presidio of Monterey, CA. The Technical Writer develops, writes, and edits materials for reports, manuals, briefs, technical specifications, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications covering work methods and procedures.
This position is contingent upon contract award.ย ย 
Responsibilities
โ€ข Develop and maintain technical documentation in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Wiki, and GitLab.
โ€ข Edit and format reports, manuals, briefs, and instruction books.
โ€ข Translate complex IT concepts into clear technical and end-user documentation.
โ€ข Author UI text and assist with documentation reviews.
Required Qualifications
โ€ข AA/AS from an accredited college or university, OR 3+ years of equivalent related experience in lieu of degree.
โ€ข Active IAT Level I certification (A+ CE, Network+ CE, SSCP, or CCNA Security) plus applicable CE/OS certification.
โ€ข Solid understanding of IT concepts and ability to translate them into technical documentation.
โ€ข Meticulous attention to detail and effective professional correspondence.
โ€ข Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work under tight deadlines.
โ€ข U.S. Citizenship.
Desired Qualifications
โ€ข BA/BS in English, Communications, or Technical Writing.
โ€ข Society for Technical Communication (STC) membership or certification.
โ€ข Experience with DITA, Markdown, or structured authoring.
โ€ข Experience documenting DoD or Army IT systems.
