Key responsibilities

  • Support the design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation of applications and systems across all phases of analysis and programming.

  • Configure cloud instances and services, evaluate and install software and hardware, and maintain enterprise infrastructure.

  • Lead and coordinate technical activities, including system upgrades, release management, and technical reviews, while guiding a team of DevOps engineers.

Job description

Description
The Opportunity
The systems that move intelligence forward do not run themselves. Behind every enterprise capability our customers depend on is a DevOps team that builds it, ships it, keeps it running, and modernizes it before the mission demands it. We are looking for an expert IT Technical SME to lead that work, someone who can own the full lifecycle of applications and infrastructure and set the technical direction other engineers follow.
As an IT Technical SME and technical lead on our Technical Services team, you will support the Desktop Environment (DTE) Integrated Program Office and sit at the center of design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation across all phases of applications systems analysis and programming. You will configure cloud instances and services, evaluate and install software and hardware, and keep enterprise infrastructure up and running while you guide a team of DevOps engineers doing the same. You will drive high priority DTE baseline release and asset management, support enterprise software and image releases, test major and minor release packages including Microsoft patches and fixes across thick and thin desktops enterprise wide, and maintain Service Lane documentation for hardware, licensing, and point of contact information so the baseline always reflects current state.
This is a leadership seat. You will collaborate with DTE stakeholders to coordinate requirements, lead research and analysis of technical issues across the environment, and update the five year Technical Refresh for the DTE COE. You will bring engineering expertise and coordination to Technical Review Boards, Engineering Review Boards, and Program Management Reviews, evaluate engineering change proposals, and track the progress of system upgrades and maintenance while keeping system and organizational documentation current. You will translate mission requirements into technical direction, develop IC level responses that close out government taskers, and carry lessons learned across projects so the next effort starts smarter than the last. If you want your engineering judgment to shape an enterprise rather than a single application, this is where you do it.
Join us. The mission does not wait.
You Have
  • Minimum 12 years of experience conducting work relevant to this position, with at least a portion of that experience within the last 2 years. This experience requirement cannot be substituted.
  • Master's degree in an area related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Equivalent substitution is permitted as follows: an Associate's degree in a related field plus 4 years of relevant experience, OR a Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 2 years of relevant experience, OR 6 years of relevant experience, in lieu of the Master's degree. Any experience used to satisfy the education substitution is separate from and does not count toward the 12 year minimum experience requirement.
  • Hands-on experience across the full software development lifecycle, including program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation, with the ability to define the technical direction of a project.
  • Experience evaluating and installing software and hardware and configuring cloud instances and services.
  • Experience serving as a technical lead overseeing other DevOps engineers.
  • Experience participating in data modeling and related data initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products including Word, Excel, Project, and SharePoint.
  • Strong interpersonal, management, and organizational skills.
  • Strong research, analytical, and editing skills.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph, or the ability to obtain a polygraph.

Nice If You Have
  • Experience supporting an IC customer or an Integrated Program Office.
  • Experience providing engineering support and coordination to Technical Review Boards, Engineering Review Boards, and Program Management Reviews.
  • Experience managing enterprise software and image releases, patch management, and baseline and asset management at scale.
  • Experience supporting modernization, integration, or external agency migration initiatives.
  • Familiarity with capturing and analyzing community requirements against existing directives, policies, and engineering best practices.

Clearance
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph is required, or eligibility and willingness to obtain a polygraph.
