Job Description:

Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is a two -year community/technical college that offers more than 75 associate degree, diploma, and certificate programs for students who are either seeking quick entry into the workforce or desiring to transfer to a senior institution to pursue a bachelor's degree. HGTC offers three convenient campus locations in South Carolina, including Myrtle Beach, Conway and Georgetown.

Horry-Georgetown Technical College is seeking candidates for a Systems Engineer position. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the college's IT systems infrastructure, ensuring high availability, reliability, and security of all systems. This role involves managing servers, storage, mobile device management (MDM) tools, and the Microsoft 365 platform. The Systems Engineer position will also be responsible for performing the independent analysis, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of moderately complex server, storage, cloud, and infrastructure technologies in support of enterprise systems. While this position offers the opportunity for hybrid work, the employee is required to maintain a 37.5-hour workweek in accordance with State Technical College System requirements and must work on-site as needed to support business operations and institutional needs.

Advertised Salary:

$57,700 (Minimum)- $80,800 (Midpoint)

Minimum Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and experience in computer system development and modification. Relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

2 year of administration experience with the following platforms and services: Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Intune, Virtualization Platforms (VMware ESXi, Nutanix), Cloud Infrastructure (Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure), Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server, Red Hat Satellite, Microsoft Server, Microsoft System Center, Load Balancers, Infrastructure as Code, Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP.
