IT Operations Analyst

This position is hybrid working 3 days a week in our Legacy West Support Center located in Plano Texas.

About the role

The IT Operations Analyst supports stability, compliance, and continuous improvement of the organization's IT control environment, with a primary focus on SOX compliance, governance, and operational process support. This role assists in coordinating IT compliance activities, supporting incidents, problem, and change management processes, and helping ensure IT operations align with internal controls, security policies, and regulatory requirements.

The position works closely with internal IT teams, audit, security, Managed Service Providers (MSPs), vendors, and business stakeholders to support control effectiveness, maintain required documentation, and assist with governance activities. The IT Operations Analyst helps identify compliance gaps, supports audit readiness, and contributes to operational discipline and process improvement across IT services.


Responsibilities

Security, Compliance, and Governance

  • Facilitate quarterly security reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of IT and security controls, report findings, and drive action plans to address identified risks and gaps.

  • Manage and coordinate SOX compliance requests, including documentation, approvals, and guidance to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal control standards.

  • Oversee governance of security policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines by leading required reviews, updates, approvals, and organizational alignment.

  • Partner closely with internal audit, security, and risk teams to support audits, assessments, and governance activities by preparing documentation, providing evidence, and resolving findings.

  • Ensure IT operations, system changes, and control implementations consistently comply with company policies, security standards, and regulatory obligations. 

  • Serve as a liaison between IT, vendors, and business departments to coordinate the implementation of new IT controls, strengthen operational discipline, and promote risk awareness across teams and service partners. 

IT Operations

  • Support daily IT operations by monitoring system, application, and infrastructure performance to help maintain availability and reliability.
  • Identify operational issues and performance trends, assist with troubleshooting, and support corrective actions to improve service stability.
  • Assist in incident management processes by helping coordinate issue resolution, escalating major incidents when needed, and supporting communication efforts.
  • Support the IT change management process by helping ensure changes are documented, reviewed, and executed in alignment with established procedures.
  • Participate in change review meetings and provide coordination support for approvals and follow-up activities.
  • Monitor MSP and vendor performance data to help identify service trends, issues, and opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to support team leads and stakeholders in improving service performance.

Change Management  

  • Support the IT change management process by helping ensure changes are documented, reviewed, and executed in alignment with established procedures. 

  • Participate in change review meetings and provide coordination support for approvals and follow-up activities. 

Data Analysis  

  • Monitor MSP and vendor performance data to help identify service trends, issues, and opportunities for operational improvement. 

  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to support team leads and stakeholders in improving service performance. 

Knowledge, skills & abilities requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
  • 3-5+ years of progressive experience in IT operations, SOX controls, or related disciplines, including demonstrated ownership of enterprise-scale operational processes.
  • Understanding of security, compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements, with experience following established controls and governance processes.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.

  • Solid interpersonal skills, including collaboration, coordination, and problem-solving across teams and stakeholders.

  • Ability to contribute to team success by supporting operational standards, accountability, and process improvement initiatives.

  • Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining process adherence and service stability.

Working conditions & physical requirements

This will be a hybrid role required to be onsite at the corporate office on specified days. The work environment generally involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, and occasionally requires carrying, moving and setting up of computers, for example desktops, monitors, printers, and other small hardware in the testing lab.
