Job Summary:
IEWC is a company focused on employee ownership and career growth. The Integration Engineer will design, develop, deploy, and maintain enterprise integration solutions, ensuring seamless data flow between SAP and core applications in a global manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain integration solutions using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including Anypoint Studio, API Manager, Runtime Manager, and Exchange.
• Build and manage SAP integrations with core enterprise applications including Salesforce, PIM, TMS, web platforms, and other non-SAP tools in a global environment.
• Develop APIs and manage message routing, error handling, and data mapping across integration flows.
• Design and implement API-led connectivity architecture (Experience, Process, and System APIs) following MuleSoft best practices and IEWC architectural standards.
• Support on-premise, cloud, and hybrid integration scenarios, including MuleSoft CloudHub.
• Understand SAP master data integrity, information flow processes, and architecture structure to design effective integration solutions.
• Support SAP interface development requirements, working alongside ABAP developers to ensure technical specifications are met.
• Collaborate with SAP developers to ensure seamless integration between SAP and external systems.
• Participate in SAP projects and upgrades, providing integration expertise during requirements gathering, design, testing, and go-live phases.
• Develop and maintain API documentation, integration specifications, and technical design documents in alignment with change control processes.
• Follow and promote API governance standards including versioning, security policies (OAuth, JWT, TLS), rate limiting, and SLA management within MuleSoft API Manager.
• Implement and maintain reusable integration assets and templates in MuleSoft Anypoint Exchange to support development efficiency and consistency.
• Apply practices to integration development including version control (Git), automated testing, and deployment automation for MuleSoft APIs.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to integration quality standards and knowledge sharing across the Development & Integration team.
• Monitor and optimize integration performance, identifying bottlenecks and implementing improvements to ensure SLA compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional global teams including IT, business analysts, and operations to understand process requirements and design scalable integration solutions.
• Gather information from end users and business stakeholders to understand current processes and translate them into integration requirements.
• Utilize and promote continuous improvement concepts and tools, including Agile, Scrum, and Kanban methodologies.
• Stay current with MuleSoft platform updates, new capabilities, and integration best practices.
• Design and execute integration test strategies including unit, regression, and negative testing across the application landscape.
• Work with the Enterprise Applications and project teams on implementation strategies that minimize end-user disruption.
• Analyze and resolve integration failures, monitor API performance, and implement proactive alerting to ensure system reliability.
• Provide ongoing support for existing integration solutions, diagnosing and resolving incidents to maintain business continuity.
• Contribute to team knowledge sharing on MuleSoft development practices and participate in a culture of continuous learning.
• Monitor integration platform health and produce operational reports on API performance, reliability, and usage metrics.
Qualifications:
Required:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field and 3–5 years of MuleSoft and/or similar enterprise integration experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Firsthand experience designing, developing, and deploying integration solutions using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including Anypoint Studio, Anypoint Exchange, API Manager, and Runtime Manager (CloudHub).
• Proficiency in DataWeave 2.0, Mule 4 runtime, RAML-based API specification design, and API-led connectivity.
• Experience integrating SAP ECC or S/4HANA with external enterprise applications via middleware.
• Familiarity with SAP BAPI, IDoc, RFC, and REST/SOAP interface patterns.
• Demonstrated experience building integrations with CRM, PIM, TMS, and web platforms using MuleSoft.
• Proficiency with RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, JSON, and XML.
• Experience with Git version control, and automated testing frameworks for integration solutions.
• Understanding of API security best practices including OAuth 2.0, JWT, and mutual TLS.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into integration specifications and technical solutions.
• Analytical ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive solutions in a global, multi-system environment.
• Proficiency in performing analysis to ensure integration functionality meets business requirements.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft environment and standard business applications.
Preferred:
• Experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment.
• Project management experience.
• MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 1 (or higher) strongly preferred.
• Experience with SAP modules including SD, MM, FICO, PP, or LE a plus.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with SAP ABAP developers on end-to-end integration solutions.
• Knowledge of integration patterns including publish-subscribe, request-reply, event-driven architecture, and batch processing.
• Familiarity with MuleSoft API governance policies and Anypoint Exchange asset management.
• Experience working with business stakeholders across IT, operations, supply chain, and finance functions.
• MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect a plus.
