Position Overview

MetroSys is seeking a versatile IT Infrastructure Engineer to support the technology operations of a growing technology manufacturing company in Irvine, CA. This role is ideal for an experienced infrastructure generalist who is comfortable working across networking, systems, cloud, virtualization, and security technologies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving the organization's IT infrastructure while partnering with business stakeholders to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable technology solutions. This position offers a blend of operational support, project work, and infrastructure modernization.


Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and support enterprise infrastructure across networking, compute, cloud, and security platforms.
  • Manage and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless connectivity.
  • Configure, maintain, and optimize Arista networking and Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Support Linux-based servers and services, including system administration, patching, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Administer and support cloud infrastructure within Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Monitor system health, performance, and security while proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Support virtualization platforms and assist with infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning.
  • Implement security best practices, patch management, and vulnerability remediation across infrastructure components.
  • Participate in infrastructure projects, including hardware refreshes, cloud initiatives, and network enhancements.
  • Collaborate with the Help Desk team to resolve escalated infrastructure issues.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in after-hours maintenance and occasional on-call support as required.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure.
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • Enterprise networking
    • Linux administration
    • AWS cloud services
    • Firewall administration
  • Experience configuring and supporting Arista networking solutions.
  • Experience administering Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
  • Solid understanding of:
    • TCP/IP networking
    • VLANs
    • Routing and switching
    • DNS and DHCP
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, networking, and cloud environments.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere or Hyper-V.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and hybrid identity environments.
  • Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Exposure to infrastructure automation or scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
  • Industry certifications such as:
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or SysOps Administrator
    • Palo Alto PCCET, PCNSA, or PCNSE
    • Arista ACE
    • VMware VCP
    • Linux+ or RHCSA
