Job description

Overview

The Manager, IT Infrastructure Architect, will provide management leadership and share hands-on responsibility in primary, secondary, and branch locations for the design and full lifecycle administration of mission critical IT infrastructure for internal and commercially available solutions.  This role ensures high performance, availability, and security through application of expert expertise in data center infrastructure, security, servers, hypervisors, operating systems, network communications, storage and data protection, and public cloud.  The incumbent utilizes knowledge, communication and leadership skills to deliver well-designed and cost-effective solutions that meet organizational goals.

Responsibilities
  • Provides technical direction, workload management, and prioritization of tasks for the team
  • Research, design, and lead the selection and implementation of highly available and performant IT infrastructure solutions
  • Contributes to hardware and software lifecycle and capacity planning
  • Implements hardware and software upgrades and deployments
  • Applies security patches and mitigations
  • Improves, maintains, and executes disaster recovery migrations
  • Creates and maintains systems logging, monitoring, and alerting
  • Documents infrastructure processes, procedures, and maintains asset management
  • Ensures data integrity, availability, security, and recoverability
  • Participates in on-call rotation, incident response, and is an escalation resource
  • Other projects and assignments as needed, requested by (Mitchell1 and Snap-on senior or executive leadership.)
Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's in Information Technology or equivalent work experience (required)
  • IT systems, network, security or cloud computing certifications (preferred)

Years of Experience:

  • Architect level experience with 10+ years of server infrastructure responsibilities with combination of physical server installation/repair and ownership of Linux, Windows Server, Hyper-V (or other hypervisor experience such as VMware or Nutanix) required
  • 5+ years of IT management experience

Other Requirements:

  • Experience with SAN/Storage technologies such as Dell, NetApp, PureStorage, Isilon required
  • Experience building/managing on-prem data center environment including power, cooling, rack/stack
  • Experience working in Hybrid/Public cloud experience with Azure or AWS required
  • Experience Network troubleshooting and packet capture analysis
  • Experience with Enterprise Backup and Recovery solutions
  • Experience with scripting such as Jenkins, Ansible, PowerShell, Perl, Terraform/IaC
  • Experience with Cisco, F5
  • Experience with ServiceNow CMDB a plus
  • Experience with Splunk administration a plus

This is a full-time, in-office role located at our San Diego headquarters: 16067 Babcock Street, San Diego, CA 92127

The expected hiring range for this position is $140,000 - $175,000. Compensation will be determined based on skills, experience, education, certifications, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, employees may be eligible for bonuses, benefits, and other company-sponsored programs.
