Job description

Senior Platform Product Manager

The Senior Platform Product Manager will lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution for the hardware platform strategy for DDN's software-defined data intelligence platform, DDN Infinia. This role is pivotal in defining how our platforms evolve to meet the demands of AI, HPC, and enterprise workloads at scale. You will work cross-functionally with engineering, marketing, sales, and customer success teams to deliver innovative solutions that drive performance, reliability, and simplicity for our customers. This is a senior-level role requiring deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong business acumen.

Platform Strategy & Vision

  • Define and own the long-term vision and roadmap for DDN's Infinia platform portfolio including 3rd party strategy.
  • Define and communicate the long-term hardware and storage media platform strategy and roadmap that supports our software-defined Infinia platform on premises, including third-party and OEM hardware options.
  • Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics to inform product direction.

Product Lifecycle Management

  • Drive end-to-end product lifecycle from concept to launch and adoption.
  • Collaborate with engineering to prioritize features, manage trade-offs, and ensure timely delivery.

Customer & Market Engagement

  • Act as the voice of the customer, gathering insights from key accounts and industry partners.
  • Support strategic customer engagements and represent DDN at industry events.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with marketing to craft messaging, positioning, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Enable sales and field teams with product knowledge and competitive differentiation.

Performance & Scalability Focus

  • Ensure platforms meet stringent requirements for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Drive innovation in areas such as AI infrastructure, cloud integration, and data management.

Metrics & Business Impact

  • Define success metrics and monitor product performance against business objectives.
  • Influence pricing, packaging, and profitability strategies.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 10+ years in product management, with at least 5 years focused on storage, data platforms, or infrastructure products.
  • Proven experience defining and owning hardware platform strategy for a software-defined or software-platform product.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex, enterprise-grade products and solutions.

Technical Expertise

  • Strong understanding of storage architecture, distributed systems, and data-intensive workloads.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML, HPC, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Hands-on knowledge of server/hardware platform design, storage media (NVMe/SSD/flash and HDD), hardware bring-up and qualification, reference architectures, and BOM/cost and supply-chain considerations.
  • Competency with NVIDIA AI Enterprise Software a plus
  • OEM/ODM partnership, hardware qualification, or hardware-supply experience a plus

Business & Leadership Skills

  • Exceptional ability to translate technical capabilities into business value.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred)
