SitelogIQ is a rapidly growing engineering and construction company focused on making buildings better. We provide planning, design, and management solutions for organizations that want efficient and sustainable building environments that are healthier and safer for their occupants.
Our IT Help Desk Technician will be a member of our corporate IT team and work out of our Sacramento, CA office. This role will serve as a first point of contact for employees experiencing computer, software, hardware, operating system, or basic networking issues. You will diagnose common computer errors, troubleshoot technical problems, and provide timely support to restore normal operation. You will take responsibility for routine support activities, communicate progress clearly, and refer more complex or unresolved issues to higher-level IT staff. Due to the support requirements, this role is expected to be in the office on a consistent schedule with a minimum of 3 days/week.
The salary range is $28.00 - $36.00 The salary may vary within the range based on factors such as a candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
IT Help Desk Technician Responsibilities
  • Diagnoses computer errors and troubleshoots common software, hardware, operating system, peripheral, and basic networking issues.
  • Provides technical support and applies established troubleshooting procedures to remedy routine computer problems and restore user productivity.
  • Installs and configures approved software and operating systems on desktop and laptop computers in accordance with established standards.
  • Updates software, operating systems, drivers, and related components when necessary and confirms that updates have been completed successfully.
  • Sets up computers, monitors, printers, peripherals, and related technology for new and existing users.
  • Follows up with users after problems have been resolved to confirm that systems are functioning properly and questions have been addressed.
  • Provides basic training and guidance in computer set-up, standard applications, and new technologies.
  • Handles basic issues independently, documents troubleshooting steps and solutions, and refers more complex, recurring, or unresolved problems to higher-level staff with clear supporting details.

IT Help Desk Technician Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is typically required.
  • 1 to 2 years of help desk, desktop support, technical support, or related experience.
  • Beginning to working knowledge of common desktop operating systems, business applications, computer hardware, peripherals, and basic networking concepts.
  • Ability to diagnose routine problems, follow established troubleshooting procedures, test solutions, and identify when escalation is required.
  • Ability to install, configure, and update software and operating systems using approved standards and instructions.
  • Basic knowledge of workstation set-up, hardware maintenance, and common computer repair practices.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with patience and professionalism when assisting users with varying levels of technical experience.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information in understandable terms.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to organize, prioritize, and follow through on multiple support requests.
  • Ability to work independently on routine assignments and collaboratively with higher-level IT staff on escalated issues.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new technologies, procedures, and support tools as business needs evolve.
