Job description

Position Objective:

The IT Help Desk is responsible for helping to maintain the information technology infrastructure in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision, culture code and standards of conduct.

General Qualifications:

The IT Help Desk is a Ministerial Support position. Ministerial Support staff serve in operational and service support roles and are not required to personally affirm Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s (“MHA”) Christian mission, vision and beliefs. However, it is expected that staff who fill these roles – no matter their personal beliefs - respect, work in harmony with, and not undermine MHA’s Christian mission, vision and beliefs. Additionally, they are required to abide by MHA’s culture code and standards of conduct. All staff are expected to join gatherings, which includes prayer, worship, and Bible-centered teaching. 

Key Job Accountabilities:       

  • Install, upgrade, reformat and maintain computers and other technology equipment.

  • Install and upgrade software.

  • Provide help desk/technical support for Mount Hermon staff with computer questions or support needs.

  • Assist IT Manager with special projects, which may include running network cable, troubleshooting network or server issues, etc.

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Education/Certifications/Licenses:

  • Basic understanding of technology and how to repair/maintain IT infrastructure. 

Work Experience: 

  • Basic experience working with IT infrastructure

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.

  • Computer skills required, including basic knowledge of maintaining IT infrastructure

Physical Demands:

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job as described in the Key Job Accountabilities:

    • The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Requires sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting, ability to lift/carry 50 lbs.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must agree to and comply with MHA’s employee driving guidelines for MHA-owned vehicles and use of personal vehicles for business purposes.

  • Adherence to the basic principles as expressed in MHA’s mission, vision, culture code and standards of conduct.

  • Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.

  • Satisfactory completion of background investigation, or valid work permit, as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

  • This position requires applicant to work on site.
