Job description

National Calibration Inc. was established in 1955, and is a growing full service ISO 17025 Accredited Calibration Laboratory with multiple offices located throughout the Southwestern United States.

Our accredited laboratory provides calibration and repair of test and measurement equipment to include: Electronics, Force, Linear, Torque, Pressure, and Weight.

We are a family owned business based in Scottsdale, AZ that has 35 employees with openings in Scottsdale, AZ.

DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for several motivated people to fill our openings as calibration technicians in a very fast paced and quality first environment. We have openings on first shift,  Phys/D, Electronics, Force, Torque, and Onsite Calibration areas. These positions are customer focused and team oriented to provide 1st class customer service in calibration.

 GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain, repair, and calibrate physical/dimensional and  laboratory standards with experience in all technical areas.

Operate under close supervision and achieve technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher level technician.

Learn and competently perform pressure calibrations, electrical calibrations, and temperature calibrations using developed procedures and practices

Capture test readings using common instruments such as micrometers and calipers.

Knowledge of torque and force application and principles.

 Knowledge of pressure principles, understanding of units of measure will train into field for right candidate. 

Learn and perform necessary repairs of instrumentation

Customer interaction

Cleaning and maintenance of lab equipment and lab

Perform other duties as requested by the calibration lab manager or lead with training 

Effectively communicate with other employees in all departments

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms

Frequently lift or move heavy instruments, up to 50 pounds, short distances

Able to maintain concentration & focus while performing calibration

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain, repair, and calibrate physical/dimensional and basic electronics test measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) and laboratory standards with experience in all technical areas.

Knowledge of pressure principles, understanding of units of measure, and application of pressure for direct readout.

Knowledge of torque and force application and principles.

Capture test readings using common instruments such as micrometers and calipers.

Ability to use and operate electronic calibration standards and automated calibration procedure software.

Ability to review standards and specifications to develop calibration templates, procedures, and set guidelines for approval through QA.

Provide Customer Service at a high level and maintain professionalism at all times while relaying information to Clients and Management.

Operate under close supervision and achieve technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher level technician.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES:

Must have math skills equal to Algebra I

Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge

Excel Skill a bonus

Mechanical and electrical aptitude/experience preferred

Clean Driving record for 3 years

High School Diploma or equivalent

Excellent communication skills, verbal and written

Good organizational skills.  

Mid-Level Technicians (2-7 years of experience)

PMEL or other formal calibration training preferred

Ability to use basic math to solve problems and analyze data

Capable of interpreting technical documents and instructions

Good organizational skills, with the ability to establish priorities.

Must have a solid understanding of electronics, electromechanical, mechanical, and thermal principles as they apply to metrology practices.

Experience with maintenance data collections systems, supply, transportation, and electronic mail is required.

Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge with higher level Excel Skills

Excellent communication skills, verbal and written

Ability to train newer technicians
