Sr Metrology/Calibration Technician - Onsite, 1st Shift
Location: One Hamilton Road, Windsor Locks, CT 06096
About the Role
Join a highly respected team as a Sr Metrology/Calibration Technician, providing technical leadership and hands-on expertise in a dynamic onsite laboratory environment. This is a one-year contract role offering competitive pay and the opportunity to directly impact production, testing, and laboratory operations. You'll drive continuous improvement, support mission-critical calibration activities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance calibration procedures and standards to ensure high accuracy and reliability
- Provide technical support for day-to-day calibration operations across production, testing, and laboratory environments
- Ensure all calibration activities comply with rigorous quality requirements and industry standards
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize laboratory equipment, instrumentation, and measurement systems
- Mentor, train, and offer technical guidance to metrology technicians
- Lead automation and process improvement initiatives to boost operational efficiency
- Collaborate with engineering, production, test, and laboratory teams to address calibration and measurement needs
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve laboratory processes and service delivery
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant technical discipline preferred
- 2-5 years of experience in metrology, calibration, instrumentation, or measurement systems
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to deliver technical leadership and support to technicians and cross-functional teams
- Hands-on experience with calibration procedures and laboratory equipment
- US citizenship required
