Job description

Job Title: Quality Assurance
Location: Chatsworth, CA (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Occasional overtime)
Salary: $25-35/ hour, depending on experience (DOE)

Position Overview:

We're looking for a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician with an understanding of quality systems. This key role ensures our calibration processes meet the highest standards of precision and compliance while supporting continuous improvement across the lab.


Responsibilities:

  • Ensure calibration, inspection, and verification activities meet ISO/IEC 17025, ANSI/NCSL Z540.3, and other applicable standards.
  • Act as a contact for calibration-related quality concerns.
  • Maintain and review calibration records and documents for accuracy and compliance.
  • Review and correct calibration certificates to uphold data integrity and standards.
  • Manage ITAR-controlled documents and ensure compliance with export regulations.
  • Investigate discrepancies and nonconformities in data/reports; support corrective actions.
  • Generate out-of-tolerance (OOT) reports and capability requests with proper traceability.
  • Address customer complaints/inquiries with professionalism and timely follow-up.
  • Assist with root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Perform routine equipment checks and assist with maintenance/troubleshooting.
  • Support internal, customer, and external audits through preparation and active participation.
  • Assist with training technicians on quality standards, procedures, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical support and communicate findings across teams and with clients.
  • Follow all safety protocols during lab and field operations.


Requirements and Skills:

  • Must have 3-5 years of experience in Quality Systems and Calibration/ metrology experience.
  • Familiar with quality tools (Kaizen, 5 Whys, Ishikawa)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field preferred
  • Experience with uncertainty analysis, calibration software, and documentation preferred
  • Skilled in CAPA, audits, and quality system improvements
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving
  • Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. and work in lab/field settings
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and U.S. citizenship required.
