About the team

We are the FIS iSeries team, responsible for managing Capital Markets and Banking Solutions Infrastructure. We provide hardware as well as core IBM I operating system support. Our team provides 24x7 support for the entire iSeries environment including HMCs, VIOS, SANs, fiber switches, and backup environments. We also cover systems in the US, Europe, and Guam.

What you will be doing

As an experienced iSeries technician, you will help grow and enhance our core iSeries platform. You will work on strategic enhancements to the infrastructure and core operating system. This role offers an opportunity to be part of a growing business, become involved with all phases of the core iSeries as well as its ancillary components. This includes, but is not limited to, VIOS, HMC, SAN storage, Brocade switches and FC over IP switches.

  • IBM iSeries (AS400) administration - patching, vulnerability remediations, etc.

  • IBM HMC and SAN storage support.

  • IBM Backups using BRMS and Cybernetics virtual tape libraries.

  • VIOS support and upgrades.

  • Other general tasks associated with maintaining the iSeries infrastructure.

What you bring

  • 5+ years' experience maintaining IBM OS400 versions 7.3, 7.4, 7.5, and 7.6

  • 5+ years working with IBM Power servers, HMCs, Backup devices, SANs

  • Strong troubleshooting background solving iSeries related issues.

  • Ability to work semi-independent on assigned tasks.

Bonus if you have

  • IBM VIOS support knowledge.

  • IBM/Brocade switch experience.

  • Automation experience using Ansible or native iSeries tools.
