Job description

Description of Position

The Accounting Specialist will support the companyโ€™s financial functions by managing daily payment activities. This role will also provide administrative support services within the framing division for the purpose of ensuring contractual compliance.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate basic working knowledge of general accounting procedures, bookkeeping, and data entry

  • Perform data entry of company expenses and general ledger and administrative expenses; Assist in maintaining the general ledger; Post transactions to the proper accounting period with accuracy and completeness

  • Review and process invoices for payment within established policies; Resolve invoice discrepancies promptly; Ensure payments are current by thoroughly monitoring accounts; Assist in month-end closing process

  • Prepare manual checks as and when required; Prepare batches for monthly reimbursements; Maintain IRS Accountable Plan Logs

  • Assist construction teams with pay applications, invoices, and reports; Foster positive working relationships and collaborate frequently with Construction Services team

  • Prepare and review subcontract and purchase order agreements in a timely manner; Assist in management of projectโ€™s critical action items to ensure continuous forward movement and daily focus

  • Demonstrate the ability and willingness to accurately perform a wide range of diverse administrative duties; Develop and demonstrate a thorough understanding of roles, standard operating procedures, and the importance of other business functions; Adjust appropriately to client and project demands to add value to support services

  • Demonstrate proficient computer and software skills, general use of accounting, contract/purchase order, and project management software systems; Ability to analyze data and apply critical thinking skills effectively; Demonstrate willingness to adapt to use of new technology solutions

Requirements of the Positions

  • Education & Certification โ€“ Associateโ€™s degree in accounting, finance, or related business field

  • Recommended Work Experience โ€“ 3-4 years of experience in accounts payable entry, preferably in the construction industry; Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications and accounting software; Experience using contract software preferred

  • Physical Demands โ€“ Prolonged sitting, standing, climbing, bending, lifting, keying, reaching, grasping, reading, speaking, and listening

  • Working Conditions โ€“ Primarily work from theย Santee Building Solutions corporate offices; Periodic travel to the Evans Management Group enterprise locations; Occasional work outside normal business hours
