Job description

We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to support day-to-day financial operations for a transport organization in Carson, California. This contract position with permanent potential is ideal for someone who enjoys maintaining accurate records, handling invoice activity, and keeping accounts current in a fast-moving environment. The person in this role will contribute to both payables and receivables functions while using accounting systems and data entry skills to ensure timely, organized processing.
Responsibilities:
• Process vendor invoices, verify supporting details, and prepare payments with a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness.
• Record customer payments, update account balances, and follow up on outstanding receivables to help maintain healthy cash flow.
• Enter financial information into accounting systems and spreadsheets while checking for completeness and correcting discrepancies.
• Assist with maintaining organized records for billing, payments, and account activity to support reporting and audit readiness.
• Use QuickBooks and related tools to update transactions, track account status, and keep financial data current.
• Review invoice documentation and resolve routine issues by coordinating with internal teams and external contacts as needed.
