Job description

Continually review, maintain, and update data integrity within the manufacturing facilities environment to convert data into meaningful through put for accurate and timely reporting on the balance sheet and income statement of the corporation, following generally accepted accounting principles. Perform assigned duties and responsibilities to support the safe and productive manufacture of quality product and meet the goals of the corporation.


Responsibilities

  • Process and distribute OER 31 (backlog by week due) with a summary by promised delivery dates. Indicate daily open production and billings available for each manufacturing facility.
  • Maintain bookings, billings, and backlog report activity by location, indicating trends and unusual fallout (ie, short shipments, post billings, etc.) daily.
  • Maintain daily batch control updating of inventory and factory order systems to continuously reflect current balances and history.
  • Prepare daily roll forward of inventory quantities based upon the transactions entered.
  • Prepare weekly inventory movement of Cost of Sales report for the bank. Show projected cost of goods sold by week including 7-week comparison of detail by inventory type and location for trending.
  • From weekly Cost of Sales report, review and identify uncosted products, notifying responsible personnel for creating a Bill of Material and Router. Allow for comparison of margins, sales quoting and inventory evaluation.
  • Review monthly activity, determine proper cut-off, assist/reconcile final transactions and close manufacturing inventory accounting period. Close the books for the manufacturing section.
  • Process all month end detail reports that affect inventory, manufacturing performance and plant profitability.
  • Convert month end reports, through journal entries, into financial impact on the balance sheet and income statement.
  • Reconcile all inventory balances, prepaid and current, on the balance sheet to maintain integrity of values.
  • Provide management with detailed analysis of inventory flow by location, work center absorption hours/dollars month and year to date and income account(s) reconciliation.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly sales analysis binder with monthly and year to date sales reporting and marketing statistics.
  • Arrange and conduct quarterly audit of consignment inventory with external representative of vendor company to comply with eternal auditor requirements.
  • Assist as inventory coordinator in formation of inventory teams, audit and control of physical inventory taking. Oversee that proper procedures and counts are being taken annually or as needed.

Responsible for quality and expediency of work.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting (preferred).
  • 3 - 5 years' cost experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment, with two or more different type product manufacturers.
  • Excellent organizational skills. Good communication skills.
