Overview

We’re looking for a dependable, hands-on Assistant Kitchen Manager to support daily kitchen operations in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This role works closely with the Kitchen Manager to ensure food quality, team performance, and smooth service.


Key Responsibilities:1. Kitchen Leadership & Team Support:

  • Assist in supervising and leading kitchen staff during daily operations
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, and coaching of kitchen employees
  • Help enforce performance standards, policies, and procedures
  • Step in as acting Kitchen Manager when needed

2. Food Quality & Execution:

  • Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control
  • Follow and enforce recipes, prep standards, and cooking procedures
  • Maintain speed, accuracy, and cleanliness during service

3. Operations & Safety:

  • Assist with opening and closing kitchen procedures
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment

4. Inventory & Cost Control:

  • Assist with inventory counts, ordering, and stock rotation
  • Monitor food waste and help control food costs
  • Receive and properly store deliveries

5. Team Culture & Communication:

  • Foster a positive, respectful, and accountable kitchen culture
  • Communicate effectively with front-of-house leadership
  • Address team concerns professionally and promptly


Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years of kitchen leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations
  • Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and time-management skills
  • Experience with high-volume service is a plus
