\n The Rochester Tax practice at Insero is not a high volume 1040 practice but is instead a tax practice focusing on complex tax compliance and projects within Fortune 500 companies as well as tax consulting across small and middle market companies including: multi\-state, multi\-national, real estate, manufacturing (amongst other industries) companies.  Majority of our small business clients are in the 1\-10 million sales volume and middle market practice are closely held businesses in the 20 million - 200 million+ sales volume many of which have global and multi state issues.<\/span>

Summary:<\/span><\/span><\/b> Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for the timely completion of tax compliance and consulting engagements including preparation and\/or review of tax returns, research memos, estimates, extensions, and notices.<\/span><\/span>

 *<\/span><\/span>Seeking candidates who have tax experience working on either Middle and\/or Large Company Tax clients \- (experience with clients who have annual revenues in the 25\-400 million range)<\/span><\/span><\/u> <\/span><\/span>

Responsibilities:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

        <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Preparing difficult business returns.
<\/p>

        <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Reviews tax returns\/work files for completeness, accuracy and compliance; communicates with and trains staff on areas needing improvement.
<\/p>

        <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Monitors tax deadlines to ensure that returns are prepared on a timely basis; communicates with managers during the preparation process to identify any tax issues needing addressing and to pull jobs so that they reach the technical review stage timely.
<\/p>

         <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Performs tax research and helps train staff to do the same; schedules annual tax research training session for all tax staff.
<\/p>

         <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Understanding and completing the steps in conducting research projects; preparing written conclusions, subject to Manager or Principal review.
<\/p>

         <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Assisting audit and accounting staff with non\-complex tax questions.
<\/p>

         <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Understanding tax accruals.
<\/p>

         <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Responding to IRS or state tax notices.
<\/p>

        <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Training interns\/staff to be able to prepare effective responses to tax notices and reviews for accuracy and supervising workflow of Tax Accountants\/Interns on less complex returns.

         <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Identifying problems and opportunities for research or work other than compliance.

Requirements<\/h3>

Education and Experience<\/span><\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

Bachelor's degree (Masters in Tax is a plus) in accounting is required, a CPA license is a plus; along with a minimum of 3 years tax experience within a public accounting firm. <\/span><\/span>Qualified candidates will have experience with all different entity types. Ideal tax experience servicing middle market and\/or large company clients with a background in Partnerships, S Corporations, and C Corporations. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/p>\n

\n <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Have a working knowledge of Paperless systems such as GoFileRoom and tax software such as Caseware & ProSystems. Have a professional demeanor with excellent communication skills. Enjoy working with people and understand the importance of nurturing and building the firm's clientele. Be ethical, conscientious, detail oriented, and well organized.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

\n Salary Information: <\/span><\/span><\/b>

\n In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the base pay range for this position is $70,000 \- $92,000 annually. Please keep in mind that this range is base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position such as eligibility to receive discretionary spot bonus incentives. This range is a reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and\/or education and geographic location.  It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the capabilities and experience of the candidate. Incentives, if any, depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and firm performance.<\/span>
