Role Summary
HR Services Generalist
Location: Hanover Park, Il #LI-Onsite
Role Summary
The HR Services Generalist provides essential administrative and operational support to the Human Resources function, ensuring the smooth, accurate, and compliant delivery of HR services. This role supports HR systems and processes, coordinates key employee lifecycle activities, and delivers a high standard of service to employees and managers. The HR Services Generalist will collaborate closely with the HR Shared Services Center to maintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity across HR platforms.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and possesses a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving. This position plays a key role in supporting employees throughout the employee lifecycle while helping maintain a positive and productive workplace environment.
Main Tasks
  • Provide day-to-day HR support to employees and supervisors within a manufacturing environment.
  • Support hourly recruiting efforts, including posting positions, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and onboarding new employees.
  • Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation activities.
  • Partner with the HR Shared Services Center to deliver comprehensive HR services throughout the employee lifecycle, from hire to retire.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, timekeeping data, and HR documentation in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Assist employees with enrollment, training, and utilization of HR systems, including ADP, SuccessFactors, and Workforce Time & Attendance.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and procedures in a timely and professional manner, escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and company events.
  • Support plant safety initiatives and compliance efforts.
  • Participate in HR projects and contribute to continuous improvement activities.
  • Respond to unemployment claims and medical support orders, ensuring timely and accurate processing in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Serve as the primary HR contact for staffing agencies, facilitating communication between agency representatives and hiring managers to support staffing needs.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Experience
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Internship or prior experience in Human Resources, Administration, Customer Service, or a related support function.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong customer service orientation with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize work and operate independently.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and engaging with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be bilingual in English-Spanish

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Workforce Time & Attendance, SuccessFactors, ADP GlobalView, or similar HR systems.

Work Environment
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical equipment, including forklifts and other manufacturing machinery. The noise level in the work environment may be loud. Employees should be comfortable working in temperatures ranging from 45ยฐF to 95ยฐF, with occasional exposure to temperatures exceeding 95ยฐF.

Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, sit, stand, walk, bend, and stoop. The employee frequently uses hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, keyboard, and other office equipment and may be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
