Job Title - Parts Room Coordinator
Location: Greensboro, NC
Position Type: Hourly
Overview: The Parts Room Coordinator is a hands-on maintenance support role responsible for issuing, receiving, organizing, and controlling spare parts, tools, and related inventory in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This opening is for a 2nd shift coordinator who will help maintain reliable parts-room coverage, support maintenance and production teams, and continue building a more accurate, organized, and auditable spare-parts process.
The maintenance parts program is currently advancing through a major improvement effort. The company has built a new spare parts area using Lista Storage Walls, with additional Lista storage solutions planned as the program expands. A large portion of the legacy parts area has already been relocated, and future phases will bring Injection Molding parts and other department parts into the spare-parts program. The Coordinator will help sustain current operations while supporting this ongoing transition.
Responsibilities:
Parts Room Operations
• Issue parts, tools, and supplies to maintenance and production personnel using ERP/CMMS transactions according to work orders or approved requests.
• Receive, inspect, label, and shelve incoming components while maintaining accurate system records for receipts and storage locations.
• Maintain organized storage areas using 5S, FIFO, labeling, and clearly defined locations.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, ladders, and other material-handling equipment safely and appropriately.
• Support good housekeeping, safe material storage, and clear access around cabinets, storage walls, and work areas.
Inventory Accuracy and D365 Support
• Process parts issues, receipts, movements, and adjustments in D365 or related ERP/CMMS tools as procedures are developed and implemented.
• Monitor inventory levels, critical spares, reorder points, and min/max settings; communicate replenishment needs to the appropriate maintenance or purchasing contact.
• Conduct cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, document findings, and help improve inventory accuracy over time.
• Assist with creating or updating part records, storage locations, descriptions, and other item master data as directed by the spare-parts process.
• Support inventory cleanup by identifying duplicate, obsolete, damaged, slow-moving, or untracked parts for review.
Kitting and Maintenance Support
• Kit and stage parts for planned preventive maintenance, corrective work, shutdown work, or other D365 Asset Management work orders.
• Coordinate with maintenance planners, schedulers, supervisors, and technicians to confirm part availability and readiness for upcoming work.
• Help reduce technician search time by preparing parts, identifying correct locations, and communicating shortages or substitutions promptly.
• Respond professionally to urgent breakdown needs while maintaining accurate issue and inventory records.
Spare Parts Program Expansion and Continuous Improvement
• Support the ongoing move from the old parts area into the new spare parts room and Lista Storage Walls.
• Assist with integrating Injection Molding spare parts and future department parts into the formal spare-parts program.
• Help label, sort, classify, and organize parts as new cabinets, storage walls, or other Lista storage solutions are added.
• Follow and provide practical feedback on new procedures for part creation, issuing, kitting, location management, and cycle counts.
• Identify opportunities to improve layout, storage discipline, transaction accuracy, communication, and customer service to maintenance and production teams.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a parts room, storeroom, warehouse, maintenance support, inventory control, or similar environment. Internal candidates with 6+ months of relevant manufacturing or packaging experience may be considered.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to learn ERP/CMMS inventory transactions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate inventory records, labeling, and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently on 2nd shift while communicating effectively with 1st shift, maintenance, production, and leadership.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, bend, reach, walk, and move throughout the shift.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities and urgent maintenance needs.
  • Commitment to safe work practices, housekeeping, and responsible material handling.
