The main function of the Allied Health internship/practicum coordinator is to manage and oversee the internship/practicum experience. The Allied Health internship/practicum coordinator will recruit sites, place students, and provide orientation for the on-site supervisors. In addition, he/she will provide the on-site assessment of student experiences and the quality of the learning opportunities at least once during each term students are assigned to the Allied Health internship/practicum site.
Master's Degree in Allied Health or related Medical Field and a current nationally recognized certificate or valid license.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Under the direction of the Dean of Instruction and in collaboration with the Medical Assisting Program Director, the internship/practicum coordinator performs the functions listed below.
To manage and oversee the Allied Health internship/practicum experience, he/she:
  • Select and approves internship/practicum sites
  • Provides orientation for the on-site supervisors
  • Orients students to the internship site
  • Tracks student applications for internship/externship
  • Conducts an on-site assessment of student learning experiences and the quality of learning opportunities at least once during each term students are assigned to the internship/practicum site
  • Provides program and Academic Advisement to students in program
  • Perform various other duties as assigned
  • Teach courses as needed

Job Requirements
  • Knowledgeable in program curriculum, as evidenced by education and/or experience
  • Effective in evaluating student learning and performance
  • Strong team player
  • Able to make meaningful and positive connections with a diverse student body in a career college environment
  • Proficiency with electronic, print, and Internet resources
  • Demonstrated evidence of excellent organizational, interpersonal, speaking, and writing skills
  • Ability to handle and coordinate multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment

Schedule:
This is a 29 hour a week non-exempt position with hours determined by supervisor. Hours will range from day, evening, weekend and possibly holidays.
This is a Non-Exempt position:
Pay: Hourly Range is: $25.00 - $26.44

The selected candidate's actual base pay for this role will take into account a wide range of non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
