Sr. Associate - S&G- Program Manager/Learning Associate

We are seeking an HR-oriented professional to support the overall program experience, including that of new hires, people leaders, business stakeholders and program alumni. Success in this role requires a positive, customer-focused approach, strong communication and project management skills, and comfort navigating ambiguity. We are looking for a candidate passionate about early talent development, experienced in project management, and eager to influence strategic decisions through data-backed insights.
Core responsibilities will vary but may include:
  • Plan and execute the program and signature experiences (such as Onboarding, Experience Weeks, and Graduation) for the 'Management' track. Provide execution support for core learning and general talent development initiatives across both virtual and in-person formats. (Note: This requires flexibility for non-standard hours as event needs dictate.)
  • Build and manage relationships with associates, managers, and cross-functional leaders across a range of levels, business functions, and geographies to ensure a positive program experience and strengthen the company brand.
  • Lead end-to-end associate engagement strategies, including owning the post-internship "Keep Warm" strategy, leading the conversion process alongside Recruiting Partners, and fostering a community that drives top-talent retention.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for associate issues, managing intake, tracking, and resolution for escalated situations.
  • Own program operational processes, including budget tracking, roster management, and shared mailbox support, while documenting processes to ensure continuity and maximize team efficiency.
  • Draft, distribute, and track strategic communications across channels like Slack and newsletters to keep associates, managers, and stakeholders informed.
  • Partner across the broader Students & Grads organization to collaborate on cohesive training materials, program resources, and shared initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or military experience
  • At least 2 years of Human Resources OR project management OR process management OR program management experience or any combination

Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of experience in human resources or at least 3 years of consulting or a combination
  • At least 1 year of experience interpreting metrics and trends
  • Experience in Campus Programs or Recruiting
  • Proficient knowledge of PowerPoint or Google Slides
  • Proficient knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets
  • Strong empathetic communication skills with varying levels of leaders and associates
  • Ability to quickly and effectively adapt to change
  • Proven problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills
  • Ability to embrace new systems and process enhancements
  • Willingness to work flexible hours due to varying needs within the program
  • High degree of professionalism and integrity when interacting with all customer contacts

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $88,800 - $101,300 for Sr. HR Associate
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
