Job description

Internship Description
The Accounting Intern will gain exposure to a wide range of business accounting duties including analyzing data, preparing financial reports, and learning about various accounting activities. Under the supervision of our Accounting Manager, the Accounting Intern can expect to participate in the preparation of journal entries and financial reports, analyze actual financial data, learn about bookkeeping, and assist with other accounting activities. The Intern will also sit with Accounts Payable, Payroll and Accounts Coordinators to see all aspects of accounting. Suggested work assignments include, but are not limited to, the following:
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with preparing financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements, invoices, and other documents
  • Post journal entries
  • Help with accounts receivable, payable, and bank statement reconciliation
  • Assist with company audits and reporting
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Assist with preparing and analyzing trend information
  • Take on additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting and office operations
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Accounting Bachelor's degree program
  • Candidates currently enrolled in their Junior and Senior year of college preferred
  • Basic understanding of financial and accounting principles
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
