Job description

Description
The School of Professional Studies at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga seeks applications for a full-time, tenure-track, nine-month Counselor Educator at the Assistant rank to begin in the Fall of 2027. UTC offers CACREP-accredited M.Ed. programs in both school counseling and clinical mental health counseling.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Teaching graduate courses in the CACREP core and specialty areas of the program
  • Engaging in an active research and scholarship agenda
  • Supervising practicum and/or internship experiences in all specialty areas
  • Participating in service to the university, community, and profession

Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP-accredited program
  • Membership and involvement in professional organizations such as ACA, ASCA, ACES
  • Potential for excellence in instruction and supervision.
  • Developed research and scholarship agenda
  • License-eligible in the State of Tennessee

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's degree in counseling from a CACREP-accredited program.
  • Two years post-master's experience working in a clinical or school setting.
  • Licensed in either school or clinical mental health counseling.
