What We're Looking For:

The design assurance team supports Zebra's promise of quality to our customers and is responsible for ensuring products meet specifications throughout program phases from components to final product.
  • Working as part of a design team, provides all design assurance deliverablesrequiredin thedevelopment process at each phase withhigh levelof coaching, including:
  • Evaluation of the materials, properties and techniques used in production of Zebra'sdevices or solutions
  • Advisingdesign engineering on theselection,applicationand test of mechanical and/orelectronic components and systems
  • Evaluating design or test methods and statistical process control procedures forachieving required levels of product reliability
  • Determiningreliability requirements of components and systems to achieve company,customerand any governmental agency reliability objectives
  • Using statistical methods to design reliability and verification test plans
  • Participate in creation and analysis of qualification test plans and results
  • Creating and analyzing designed experiments todeterminemain effects of lowcomplexity device sub-systems to improve designs
  • Using hypothesis testing and other statistical methods to assess the significance of testresults
  • Actively reviewing, understand and applying the Market Requirements Document and
  • Engineering Specifications to quantify metrics and acceptance thresholds
  • May or may not be responsible for managing quality and reliability sub teamactivtiestosupport the initiatives of the core development team, programmanageror product linemanagement deliverables
  • Communicates proactively with the project team and other stakeholders about progress againstqualification testing and reliability analysis and results. Proactively tracks metrics for the productprior to and following alpha release.
  • Level 2 roles typically focus on a subset of products / devices in Zebra's portfolio
  • Typically supports multiple derivative new product or sustaining projects simultaneously
  • With input / oversight from a senior engineer or member of management, may makerecommendations for changes in theselectionand application of components and systems todrive improved reliability
  • Demonstrates familiarity with performing design for quality tasks, design failure mode effectsanalysis, inspection fixture and measurement systems, manufacturing validation test, buildqualification and correction action of results toappropriate coreteam discipline lead
  • Activelyparticipatein program Risk Assessment and mitigation activities.
  • Assist project team in understanding technical issues and approaches to determining rootcauseand corrective action.
  • Escalates novel issues or concerns about design approach and conformance to standards to asenior level engineer or manager forassistance
  • Analyze and approve Engineering changes to production products
  • Contributes to innovation efforts byparticipatingactively in brainstorming activities andactivelybenchmarking externally with other organizations on best practices in designassurance
  • Provides product qualification or reliability test support over thelife-cycleof the product to supportcost saving initiatives, end of life part requalifications, second source requalifications or criticaldesign improvements due to field performance or customer escalations.

Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering field (Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineer)
Minimum Work Experience (years):
Minimum 2+ years' experience in Hardware Engineering &/or Electronics Engineer

Pay Range:

$76,640.00 - $114,960.00 Annual

Incentive Compensation:

In addition to base pay, Zebra offers this role the opportunity to earn a performance-based annual cash incentive, at a target equal to 10% of base pay, in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
