Job description

THE JOB / Intern (Global Soccer Fan Festivals) (Home Improvement Client)
EXPERIENCES / Responsible for planning and executing events and experiential marketing programs.
Next summer, Octagon will help bring the excitement of the FIFA World Cup™ to life across some of the nation's most iconic cities. On behalf of our home improvement client, we're hiring 15-20 Interns in each host city to support the execution of world-class fan experiences through event operations, fan engagement, and vendor management.
As an Intern, you'll work alongside your on-site manager and Octagon's account team to help create unforgettable moments for fans. Expect a hands-on role with 8-12 hour shifts outdoors at official fan festival zones-either near the host stadium or in the heart of the host cities.
Because these are locally based events, you must live in or have housing within your host city. Interns should be available for the majority or all of the event schedule, running from mid-May through mid-July 2026.
This is aonce-in-a-lifetime opportunity to gain real-world experience at the largest sporting event on the planet. You'll learn what it takes to build, operate, and manage large-scale experiential activations-while working side by side with industry-leading professionals, vendors, and partners.
Ideal candidates are team-oriented, communicative, adaptable, and eager to contribute to an unforgettable global event experience.
WHERE YOU'LL WORK
One of the following FIFA Host Cities:
  • Kansas City, Missouri
  • Los Angeles, CA
  • Seattle, WA

WHEN YOU'LL WORK
Dates: Mid-May through Mid-July 2026 (Dates vary by host city)
THE WORK YOU'LL DO
  • Coordinate and implement on-site activities at fan festivals and/or stadiums
  • Responsible for daily set-up, breakdown, and maintenance of all event equipment
  • Troubleshoot on-site challenges
  • Interact with soccer fans from all over the globe to ensure they have a positive and engaging experience
  • Keep organized records of all travel expenses and time tracking and submit to your manager in a timely fashion
  • Work/travel on weekends, holidays and during non-traditional hours
  • Event activation days include early morning hours and some late evenings
  • Other related duties as reasonably assigned

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a related field or recent graduate
  • 0-1+ years' work or internship experience in events or a customer-service oriented role. Brand Ambassador experience also a plus
  • A fan or expert of soccer, basic knowledge of event management is preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Desire to learn and develop a career in event marketing
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Capacity to become knowledgeable about our client's industry, brand and product offerings
  • Ability and comfort level to communicate with consumers, potential consumers or fans in an event setting
  • Strong ability to work as part of a team, demonstrate initiative and solve problems optimally and independently
  • Must either live or have housing in specified host cities
  • Fluency in multiple languages a plus
  • Full availability to support all or a majority of the event days (mid-May - mid-July)
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and be standing for 8 hours at a time
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and work weekends or holidays as needed. Anticipated travel level: (Low 0-15%)

This position pays minimum wage and is overtime-eligible.
