Job description

ASC Engineered Solutions is looking for a Field Specialist- Mechanical Sales to cover our Houston, TX territory. The Mechanical Specialist is a highly adaptive, technically fluent sales professional responsible for creating demand and driving project opportunities within the commercial mechanical construction market. This individual serves as ASC's field expert, supporting contractors through technical knowledge, installation expertise, relationship development, and project pursuit activities. The role is responsible for growing territory sales by educating customers, influencing product selection, supporting project execution, and identifying opportunities to expand ASC's presence within the market.
Sales & Territory Management
  • Develop and execute an annual territory business plan
  • Build, maintain, and expand relationships with contractors and engineers
  • Identify, qualify, prioritize, and advance project opportunities
  • Manage a healthy sales pipeline using CRM and project tracking tools
  • Develop account growth strategies for existing and prospective customers
  • Utilize market intelligence to identify geographic growth opportunities. 
  • Forecast project opportunities
  • Collaborate with the broader sales team to execute account and project strategies
  • Customer & Market Focus: Acts as a trusted advisor, drives product adoption through education, and builds long-term partnerships.
  • Performance & Ownership: Self-motivated, accountable, results-oriented, and proactive in territory growth.
  • Professional Competencies: Technical curiosity, problem-solving, adaptability, resilience, collaboration, and professional presence.
  • Required: Experience in mechanical construction, piping systems, fabrication, engineering support, or related trades; working knowledge of PVF products and commercial mechanical systems.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree, 5+ years outside sales experience, PVF/grooved systems/valve experience, estimating experience, and established industry relationships.
  • Typical Responsibilities: Jobsite demonstrations, contractor training, installation support, High value project execution, quoting, bidding, market development, and market intelligence gathering.
  • Technical & Product Knowledge: In-depth understanding of mechanical piping systems, PVF products, grooved joining systems, valves, hangers, press, threaded, and fabrication equipment.  Knowledge of construction processes, fabrication operations, piping applications, competitive methods, industry standards, large project execution phases and areas of influence.
  • Sales & Business Development: Solution selling, opportunity development, territory planning, pipeline management, CRM utilization, and strategic growth execution.
  • Communication & Relationship Management: Strong presentation, training, customer education, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Travel: 50-75%
