INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION:
This is a rotational based role. In this temporary intern position, you will rotate between support the Desktop & Laptop Enterprise Build center and TechExpress, The Hartford's walk-up technical support service team.
  • Assisting the fast-paced day to day management, build and deployment of computers (desktops and laptop's) across our Hartford campus
  • Learning and running scripts to install / load approved software packages
  • Learning and performing approved operating procedures and adhering to processes to complete a high volume of work with quality and consistency
  • Replacing broken hardware for end users (keyboards, mice, monitors)
  • Assisting with maintaining and inventory management of technology assets
  • Handling and moving of computer equipment up to 40 lbs.
  • Assisting users with computer/software/printer issues in a fast-paced environment
  • Running Data Preservation for reclaimed computers
  • This role may require a high degree of walking around our Hartford campus (Possibly several miles of walking. We encourage an active and healthy work environment!)

COMPETENCIES & SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Self-motivated with mature, professional, and ethical conduct

  • Eager to learn new things and apply the information quickly to different situations
  • Analytical and decision-making abilities, problem solving skills

  • Experience working with Microsoft or Google's G suite of applications.
  • Windows 10, and Microsoft365, product preferred

  • Technology focused curriculum preferred
  • Teacher Recommendations preferred
  • Engagement and leadership in school clubs, extracurricular activities, support or leading community or volunteer enrichment events preferred

LOCATION OF INTERNSHIP:
1 Hartford Plaza Hartford, CT
o Virtual / Remote Work & Onsite
WORKING TIME / SCHEDULE
  • Monday - Friday, 20 hours. (Position is Part-Time, Temporary)
  • Internship starts mid-June and runs through mid-August
  • Working hours vary, typically 8:30AM - 5PM

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS / CONSIDERATIONS:
  • Reliable Transportation (for on-site work, if required)
  • Must satisfy employment eligibility requirements as established by The State of Connecticut and pass required back-ground checks.

Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$17 - $18
