Job description

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.
Builder Operations, systems and services team is responsible for developer experience, CICD and production services. We are looking for engineers with experience in designing backend services, five 9 service availability and metrics, with advanced knowledge of AWS cloud services infrastructure such as IAM, Lambdas, Cloud watch, API gateways etc. Proficiency in atleast one of TypeScript/Python/GoLang is an added advantage.
The candidate would participate in all phases of software development from requirements through implementation and test to operations. You will participate in the design, integration and improvement of the software. This includes designing and implementing a wide range of software using AWS stack, sometimes requiring partnership with low level embedded code software systems and architecting scalable design solutions for software distribution and deployment for satellites. You must be about to disambiguate high level of ambiguity and unknowns, design flexible solutions and able to succeed within an open, collaborative environment.
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 8+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
