About Frontline Response

Frontline Response is a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families experiencing homelessness, housing instability, behavioral health challenges, and other complex social barriers. Our work is rooted in trauma-informed care, equity, dignity, and accountability, and we partner closely with county agencies, healthcare systems, law enforcement, and community organizations across Metro Atlanta.

As Frontline Response continues to expand—including Emergency Shelter Operations, Housing Stabilization, Case Management, Behavioral Health Coordination, and Community Outreach—we are seeking passionate BSW and MSW Social Work Interns who are eager to gain meaningful, hands-on field experience.

Internship Overview

This internship provides an immersive, real-world learning experience for students pursuing a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or Master of Social Work (MSW) degree. Interns will work alongside experienced social service professionals in fast-paced, high-impact environments serving vulnerable populations.

This opportunity is ideal for students who want to move beyond theory and gain practical experience on the front lines of human services.

Key Learning & Responsibility Areas

Interns may support and rotate through multiple program areas, including:

· Client intake, screenings, and assessments

· Case management and individualized service planning

· Housing navigation and homelessness diversion

· Emergency shelter, warming center, and cooling center operations

· Behavioral health coordination and crisis response support

· Support for justice-involved individuals and families

· Community outreach and engagement activities

· Documentation and data entry (HMIS exposure)

· Participation in case conferences, team meetings, and trainings

· Shadowing licensed and supervisory social work professionals

Responsibilities are aligned with academic field placement requirements and individualized learning goals.

· Dependable, adaptable, and comfortable in dynamic environments

· Internship is unpaid and eligible for academic credit / field hours
