The Taxi Manager focuses on overseeing the entire taxi service, including fleet management, staff supervision, and business planning. In contrast, a Taxi Dispatcher primarily handles coordinating rides, communicating with drivers and customers, and managing daily dispatch operations. While both roles are essential in taxi services, the Taxi Manager has a broader strategic and managerial scope, whereas the Taxi Dispatcher is more involved in day-to-day ride coordination.
• Maintain an orderly flow of passengers and taxicabs and oversee the movement and expeditious loading of Taxis.
• Prevent soliciting of customers.
• Maintain an orderly taxi line ensuring that all drivers are at the taxi stand line remain within the immediate proximity to their vehicles.
• Advise customers of rules and regulations pertinent to the trip including the correct fare and meter rates to their destination.
• Cooperate with Port Authority Police, Airport and/or PABT Supervisors and taxi commission agents in connections with the performance of the dispatcher duties provided herein.
• Be familiar with, adhere to and enforce Taxi and Limousine commission rules and regulations.
• When required issue Taxi Dispatcher program violation form against taxi drivers for violation of Taxi and Limousine commission rules and regulations.
• Gather incident information, documents, prepare and review reports as needed. Submit tour reports as required.
• Standing and walking up to 8 hours a day.
• Preform any other related responsibilities or duties as required by the contractor by the facility manager or his/her designee.
