Job description

Willis Johnson Wealth is seeking creative and motivated college Juniors and Seniors to join our Marketing and Business Development team for a Fall Internship in our Houston office.
This internship provides hands-on experience in digital marketing, content creation, and brand storytelling within a growing wealth management firm. Interns will work alongside experienced team members on meaningful projects that support the firmโ€™s marketing strategy, business development efforts, and client communication initiatives.
This is not a traditional coffee and errands internship. Interns will contribute directly to real marketing initiatives, gain exposure to the financial services industry, and develop practical skills in marketing strategy, content production, and digital marketing execution.
Throughout the fall, interns will have opportunities to collaborate with team members across the firm, receive mentorship, and participate in company events and team building activities.

Key Responsibilities
As a Marketing Intern at Willis Johnson Wealth, you will:
  • Assist in planning and scheduling social media content calendars
  • Design and create digital content for social media and marketing campaigns
  • Conduct competitor research and analyze digital marketing trends including SEO, email marketing, webinars, and digital advertising
  • Support business development initiatives through email campaigns, outreach, and marketing materials
  • Assist with creating marketing collateral including infographics, presentations, social media graphics, and short form video content
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and improve content across multiple channels

Qualifications
  • Currently a Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Strong research, organizational, and communication skills
  • Experience with design tools such as Canva, PowerPoint, or other graphic tools
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Advanced Canva design and video editing skills
  • Experience creating short form video content for YouTube, LinkedIn, or other social platforms
  • Basic familiarity with personal finance or financial planning concepts
  • Experience producing content for a professional audience
  • A portfolio of individual design or content creation work including writing samples, graphic design, web content, or video
