POSITION SPECIFICS
The Nittany AI Alliance is seeking a top-performing recent Penn State graduate who has earned a bachelor's degree and demonstrated remarkable engagement, leadership, and technical skills particularly through active participation in Nittany AI Alliance programs.
As a Nittany AI Application Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students participating in the Nittany AI Challenge and helping the program manager create new AI tools. The AI Application Specialists will also have the unique opportunity to pursue a master's degree during their appointment, blending academic advancement with real-world impact.
This opportunity offers a transformative experience at the intersection of applied AI, education, and community engagement - ideal for those ready to give back while accelerating their own professional and academic journeys.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Mentorship and Student Engagement - Assist the program manager to mentor and support students in the Nittany AI Challenge by guiding project development, team collaboration, and effective use of AI tools.
  • Workshop Facilitation - Support the program manager in planning and leading workshops, ideation sessions, and team-building activities that advance student success and support Nittany AI program goals.
  • Program Development - Work with the program manager to improve learning experiences, refine workflows, and apply feedback to strengthen the program.
  • Hackathon and Event Leadership - Represent the Nittany AI Alliance at major student events, including HackPSU, by leading mini technical workshops and coordinating with student organizations.
  • Program Impact and Reporting - Help track workshop attendance, program milestones, and student outcomes, and assist with reporting program impact to stakeholders and donors.
  • Intern Supervision - Supervise and support student interns by providing daily guidance, assigning tasks, and fostering professional growth to promote their success and maintain program continuity.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor's DegreeNo prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education.Required Certifications:None
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated record of success in Nittany AI Alliance programs or similar programs
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and leadership skills
  • Passion for project-based learning, mentorship, and applied AI
  • Experience supervising, managing, or leading peers or student teams

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $49,188.00 - $71,340.00.
