Summary: Responsible for providing consulting support to the Government Consulting Services Center of Excellence (CoE). Consulting support is typically related directly or indirectly to the Department of Defense or state/local government(s) and may include developing study methodologies, data collection and analyses, researching and writing unique reports, and other tasks as assigned. This role is ideal for a professional passionate about public service, process improvement, and project management.

Essential Functions:

  • Research areas or issues as assigned and write formal and informal reports of varying lengths focused on summarizing information or persuading readers to support objectives.
  • Support continuous process improvement and business process reengineering projects through process mapping; data collection, analysis, & visualization; and development of digital solutions.
  • Support project execution to include preparing reports, developing technical documents and presentations, and contributing to otherโ€™s project deliverables.
  • Plan, organize, and lead facilitation of virtual and in-person engagements with project stakeholders focused on visioning, brainstorming, and solving various challenges.
  • Meeting with clients and their representatives as an individual or part of a team to present results, resolve issues, answer questions, and maintain good relations.
  • Project management or project management assistance including budgeting, scheduling, organizing teams, prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines, quality assurance and invoicing.
  • Supporting proposal development by providing content for the approach, schedule, or other sections as assigned in accordance with the request for proposal or request for qualifications.

Competencies:

  • Familiarity with the organization and structure of the U.S. Department of Defense, with a more detailed working knowledge of one or more of the military services.
  • Gather input from stakeholders involved in all aspects of a project to ensure their perspective and specialized knowledge is incorporated into recommendations and proposed solutions.
  • Collect and organize information from a variety of sources, such as computer databases, scanned documents, surveys, and customer feedback.
  • Ability to use statistical analysis, simulations, predictive modeling, or other quantitative methods to analyze information and develop practical solutions to business problems.
  • Write memos, reports, and develop presentations explaining findings and recommendations for managers, executives, and other project stakeholders
  • Outstanding communication (written and oral) and presentation skills.
  • Well versed in use of the Microsoft Office suite of products, to include Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and others.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to project sites and other facility offices.
  • Working knowledge of data visualization and automation tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, and others) is preferred.

Education and Experience:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, architecture, operations research, data science or related field of study.
  • Minimum of four years of work-related experience, preferably in the areas of engineering, public works, installation management, construction management, logistics, or base operating support.
  • Valid driver's license, in conjunction with successfully passing the Companyโ€™s MVR screening.
