Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The 911 GIS Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining a regional Geographic Information System (GIS) database for information sharing and development specific to the Department of Emergency Services. This includes ensuring the accuracy of the GIS digital data, publication, and maps; coordinating with emergency responders, emergency service providers, and the public; and collaborating with the Department of Emergency Services (DES) IT Coordinator and DES Administrator to maintain the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System Database. Additionally, the 911 GIS Coordinator will serve as a liaison between the GIS Department and the Department of Emergency Services, managing GIS functions within the CAD system and assisting with the implementation of Next Generation 911 (NG911) protocols.


This position will have an individual private office space.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Emergency Services experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in GIS preferred.
  • GIS certification
