Description
The City of Jefferson is currently looking to hire GIS Seasonal Employees to work with our Public Works Department and GIS Division. This position is responsible for reviewing, collecting, updating and maintaining GPS/GIS data of City owned infrastructure.
Examples of Duties
GPS field collection of infrastructure assets owned by the City of Jefferson
QA/QC of GIS database and GPS data collection
Properly store and organize GIS information in relation to the City of Jefferson
Field verification/inspection of mapped infrastructure
Compiling of data based on user requests and presenting in requested formats such as maps, tables, etc.
Editing of data acquired through as-built research and field collection. This will include correctly digitizing GIS assets and adding/updating attribute values based on corrected information.
Perform other duties as required.
Reports to the Stormwater Coordinator.
Typical Qualifications
Physical: Ability to walk for long periods of time including areas of rough terrain while carrying gear and able to lift up to 75 pounds.
Mental: Ability to concentrate on projects with limited supervision.
Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid Missouri Drivers' License.
Supplemental Information
Preference given to applicants with previous experience with ArcGIS or those who have completed an entry level GIS course through an accredited College or University.
