Purpose of Role

We are searching for a Footwear Designer I to help elevate our Performance Run footwear line. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic company, and to make athletes of all ages better every day.  This role will serve as a versatile role and will focus on both Performance Run and Training footwear. This position offers the ability to explore,  be creative and work with Under Armour's latest technologies and innovations.

Your Impact
  • Help to strengthen the UA footwear product engine from the design side, partnering directly with design leaders and teammates. 
  • Partner with design leadership to drive concepts for Performance Run footwear
  • Work and collaborate inclusively with Marketing, and Development teams to meet project objectives.
  • Lead creation of individual footwear projects and milestone deliverables.
  • Develop and execute clear and detailed sketches, renderings and technical drawings.
  • Present design project work within individual project teams, and at category design checkpoints.
Qualifications
  • BA, BFA or BS in Industrial Design not required.
  • 1+ yrs experience designing and developing innovative footwear and other products (this can include internships, school projects, etc.)
  • Knowledge of form, color, materials, human factors, related to elevating the consumer experience
  • Proficient Photoshop and Illustrator skills
  • Working knowledge of 3D software is a plus
  • Ability to create accurate 2D technical drawings
  • Strong sketching, illustration, and rendering skills
  • Introductory knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
  • Must be able to generate a broad range of concepts and solutions for each project
  • Hand prototyping skills are a plus
  • Experienced with presentation programs: Keynote, Powerpoint, Acrobat, etc
Workplace Location
  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Baltimore, MD office.
  • Work Schedule: This role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring 4 days in-office per week. 
  • Travel: 5%

Base Compensation

$65,000.00-$90,000.00 USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
