Job Summary/Basic Function
- Organize and execute both team and individual programs to improve the speed, agility, quickness, flexibility and cardiovascular stamina of our student-athletes.
- Observe training, practice, and performance and use their observations in conjunction with athlete records to assess strengths and weaknesses and design programs accordingly.
- Schedule weight lifting activities in conjunction with the coaching staff and Strength and Conditioning Coordinator.
- Maintain detailed, accurate and updated athlete records in order to track athlete progress.
- Assist in player evaluations and injury rehabilitation in conjunction with the athletics training staff.
- Maintain the weight room through the inventory of equipment, recommendation of equipment, repair and maintenance of equipment and cleanliness of space.
- Abide by all institutional, conference and NCAA rules and regulation as well as report any and all violations.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree and acceptance into a graduate program at Shepherd University is required.
- Commitment to being a positive role model, as well as having excellent communication skills.
- Must possess a current valid driver's license.
- Must have progressive experience with the development and management of sport-specific individuals and group strength training programs for men and women.
- CSCS or comparable certification required.
- Maintain enrollment at Shepherd University for 2026-2027 academic year.
*A criminal background check will be required as a condition of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Collegiate-level playing or coaching experience in the sport of football.
- Knowledge of NCAA Division II rules and regulations.
- Experience using TeamBulidr and ARMS software.
- CPR/AED First Aid Certification.
- Accountability and Emotional Intelligence working with co-ed student-athletes
