About the Service Advisor Roleย ย 

The Service Advisor serves as the primary point of contact between clients and the mobile maintenance team. This roleย is responsible forย assessing fleet vehicle service needs, analyzing work order specifications, evaluating labor and parts costs, and preparingย accurateย and competitive repair estimates. The Service Advisor coordinates with the dispatch team to ensure seamless service delivery and upholds a high standard of customer communication throughout the estimate and approval process.ย ย 

This position is based out of our corporate office in Sacramento, CA.ย 

Where You'll Make an Impact

Estimating & Work Ordersย 

  • Evaluate client-reported vehicle issues and technician findings to generate detailed,ย accurateย service estimates for Class 6-8 trucks and trailersย 
  • Build and present estimates using fleet maintenance software, including labor,ย parts,ย supplies,ย and applicable feesย 
  • Review manufacturer service schedules and recommended intervals to proactivelyย identifyย additionalย service needsย 
  • Obtain customer approval on all estimates prior to work authorizationย 
  • Update estimates in real time as scope of work changes in the fieldย 

Client Communicationย 

  • Serve as the primary liaison between fleet clients and mobile technicians throughout the service processย 
  • Communicate service timelines, delays, and completed work clearly and professionally via phone, email, or fleet management platformsย 
  • Build andย maintainย strong relationships with fleet managers and key client contactsย 
  • Handle customer concerns and resolve service disputes in a professional andย timelyย mannerย 

Dispatch Coordinationย 

  • Work closely with the dispatch team to schedule preventive maintenance visits and repair callsย 
  • Communicate job scope, priority, andย special requirementsย to dispatch to ensure the right technician and equipment are assignedย 
  • Provide dispatch with real-time updates on estimate approvals, scope changes, and job status to keep schedulesย accurateย 
  • Prioritize open work orders based on vehicle downtime impact and client urgencyย 

Documentation & Complianceย 

  • Maintainย accurateย records of vehicle service histories, estimates, approvals, and completed workย 
  • Ensure all work ordersย comply withย company pricing standards and warranty policiesย 
  • Assistย with warranty claim documentation as neededย 

What Makes You a Great Fitย 

  • 3-5 years of experience as a service advisor or service writer in a heavy-duty trucking, commercial vehicle, or fleet maintenance environmentย 
  • Hands-on knowledge of Class 6-8 trucks and trailers, including engines, drivetrains, brakes, suspensions, and DOT compliance requirementsย 
  • Familiarity with heavy-duty OEMs such as Freightliner, Kenworth, Peterbilt, International, Volvo, and Mackย 
  • Strong understanding of preventive maintenance schedules and common repair procedures for commercial trucks and trailersย 
  • Proficiencyย with service or fleet management software (e.g., Fullbay, Mitchell1 Truck,ย Trimble,ย FleetIQ, or similar)ย 
  • Ability to read and interpret repair orders, inspection reports, and technician findingsย 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-first mindsetย 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple open accounts simultaneouslyย 
  • High school diplomaย required;ย Associate'sย degree preferred.ย
