Job description

This is a full-time salaried position with a schedule of Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, plus occasional alternate days based on training and business needs. We are seeking a highly organized, energetic professional who blends a passion for education and team development with strong operational expertise in the salon and spa industry.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, fashion-forward environment and is excited to inspire, coach, and elevate both team members and the guest experience. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, from leading training initiatives and driving service excellence to supporting daily salon and spa operations. Success in this position requires a commitment to creating exceptional experiences and ensuring every guest receives the elevated level of care and attention that defines the PENZONE brand.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages the Artists in Training at the New Artist Concept as well as Apprentices.
  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the New Artist Concept in collaboration with Creative Educators.
  • Leads progress checks with new artists and determines promotion eligibility.
  • Leads administrative tasks for new artisttraining.
  • Assumes educator responsibilities as needed
  • Schedules new artists.
  • Creates and maintains schedules for creative educators.
  • Processes call offs and requests for time off for new artists and apprentices.
  • Ensures proper weekly administration of timeclock and payroll audit.
  • Oversees the administration of Salon and Barber license tracking + license renewals.
  • Nurtures new artists, apprentices + interns by helping coach, support growth + help manageartist/apprentice issues.
  • Provides content development and support for technical + non-technical training.
  • Contributes development and support to the LMS platform.
  • Supports the Apprentice and Intern Mentors by being the primary point of contact for questions and escalated issues.
  • Supports creative educator team and education leadership team.
  • Provides extraordinary guest service and spends time circulating on the floor to support our guests.
  • Supports protocol development and evolution
  • Supports and resolves guest concerns
  • Maintains cleanliness and Ohio State Board of Cosmetology standards within BASE ONE
  • Other tasks and responsibilities not listed which may be deemed essential or necessary to this role.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Prefer minimum of 1-year successful industry service experience.
  • Prefer 1-3 years leadership experience.
  • Active Ohio Cosmetology license required
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize daily responsibilities and effectively meet/exceed department deadlines.
  • Excellent written + verbal communication skills.
  • Ability + desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Track record of high achievement and a sense of self-motivation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that allow for confident interactions with all demographics of potential guests.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Must have favorable references and pass a background check.
