About the Role
As a Job Specialist, you'll assist our Academy for Human Service Training (AHST) Program, which trains students, who may have long gaps or inconsistent work history, for a career in Human Services. This role focuses on building relationships with similar employers for internships and job placement for graduates of the program. You'll focus on helping people, who have the heart and passion for helping others, gather the skills necessary to make their passions a reality.
Your responsibilities may include:
  • Assisting students in determining their career goals
  • Addressing barriers in the way of student's employability e.g. transportation, child care, and similar needs
  • Fostering relationships with employers, to provide internship and employment opportunities to students and graduates.
  • Instructing courses on employment skills
  • Working collaboratively as part of a compassionate, supportive team

What We're Looking For
We're seeking outgoing and positive individuals who are can serve as guides for individuals that have the heart to help other, but do not have the knowledge of how to put that heart to use.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree plus one year of experience with job development
  • Driver's License
  • Personal Insured Vehicle

This position is intended for individuals with lived experience as participants in the mental health service system who have demonstrated the ability to access and utilize community resources effectively.
Pay
  • $18.21 per hour
    • Mileage reimbursement provided.
